FAQs

Does the Explore 5 run on 220V?

Yes, directly; the Cricut Explore 5 power adapter runs on 100–240V, so it works on 220V mains with just a plug adapter, and the adapter comes in the box.

        Do I need design experience?

No; the free Design Space app runs on phone, tablet and computer and includes more than 3,000 images, 100+ fonts and 1,000+ ready-made projects with no subscription; it needs a Bluetooth-enabled device and a high-speed internet connection.

Do I need a cutting mat for every material?

No; Smart Materials load directly without a mat for cut lengths up to 3.6 m, cardstock and printable vinyl are cut on the two included Light Grip mats, and insert cards on the included 2-Card Mat.

        Does it cut thick materials?

Yes; with the Deep Cutting Tool (sold separately) it cuts materials up to 1.5 mm thick such as poster board, heavy cardstock, foam, rubber and magnet sheets, while the included fine-point cutting tool handles vinyl, iron-on and cardstock.

What does the included EasyPress Mini LT do?

It applies small heat-transfer designs up to 4×3.5-inch with a single heat setting up to 355°F (180°C), working with iron-on materials such as the included Smart Iron-On sheets rather than Infusible Ink or sublimation, and since it has no auto-off, simply unplug it when you're done.
